The SPCS PTA is dedicated to fostering a positive and supportive learning environment for our students. We deeply recognize that the emotional well-being of our children plays a pivotal role in their overall growth and development. The seminar, initially scheduled for May 4, 2024, was rescheduled to July 6, 2024.
On the day of the seminar, 57 parents, including ExCo members, gathered at the G7 Theatre to attend the event presented by our distinguished speaker, Miss Ava Lau. Miss Lau is an experienced professional in positive discipline, career development, and positive parenting.
Miss Ava Lau delivered an insightful talk on “Parenting the Positive Discipline Way: Be Kind and Firm 家長正面管教培訓:溫和且堅定的力量.” She used numerous practical and real-life examples to illustrate the changes, transformations, and essential skills necessary for fostering positive, effective, and sustainable relationships between parents and children. She also designed several interactive activities to help parents experience and understand the core techniques of positive discipline, providing valuable takeaways for building constructive relationships.
Parents actively participated in role-playing exercises, raised questions, and provided feedback through interactive surveys and commenting sessions. During the Q&A session, Miss Ava shared her own family stories and offered invaluable advice and useful online resources for parents to continue their self-study.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Miss Ava Lau for sharing her professional knowledge and remarkable insights with us.
A big thank you to all parents and daughters for joining this seminar!
Note: We apologize for the minor issues with the projector and air conditioning, which struggled to cope with the extremely hot afternoon.
