We, at the St. Paul’s Convent School Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), are jubilant to renew our commitment towards fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among our students. Since 2022 academic year, starting from September 2022, we are sponsoring two vending machines on campus as part of our continued endeavor to embrace the school’s focal theme of SMART CITIES.
In line with this initiative, we invited our students to form teams and participate in a competition designed to showcase their entrepreneurial prowess. Our talented students rose to the occasion, forming impressive teams across all the houses.
On July 29th, we witnessed a riveting display of creativity and strategic thinking as the teams presented their proposals for managing the vending machines in the coming academic year. Each team had 5 minutes to present their ideas, followed by a Q&A session with our esteemed panel of judges.
We were honored to participate with Ms. Gisa Chan, Project Director at Solomon Learning Group, as our lead judge. Additionally, our PTA chairperson, Mrs. May Hau, and Dr. Tony Cheong, a PTA executive member, also joined the panel.
The enthusiasm, creativity, and business acumen displayed by all our students were truly inspiring. We were equally impressed by the high-quality presentations and the students’ ability to handle their incisive questions.
After much deliberation, Cavell House was named the winner. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the victorious team members – Athena Yu from F.4A, Serena Lo from F.4P, and Cherene Ngai from F.4A. Their hard work and innovative approach have earned them the responsibility of operating the vending machines in the coming academic year.
We are confident this experience will serve them well in their future endeavors and we look forward to witnessing their success in managing the vending machines.
