Every year, SPCS and Parent-Teacher Association will co-organize a meaningful community service programme for our parents and students to promulgate the message of love, respect and care to the underprivileged groups and through it to promote harmonious family relationship in our family. On May 6 2017 (Saturday), over 60 parents, teachers and students participated as volunteers, bringing care, laughter and joy to 260 seniors residing in 2 elderly homes in different districts of the city. They include (i) Little Sisters of the Poor St Joseph’s Home for the Aged; (ii) Po Leung Kuk Eco-Home for the Senior. It was a fun-filled afternoon and the seniors enjoyed very much the instrument, singing and participated in games prepared by the volunteers and students.
Thanks for the generosity of our parents, PTA has received donations with a total amount of HK$13,000, and all the money was used to prepare gifts for the elderly including food, daily necessities including towels, which were wrapped as lovely rabbits. The elderly were touched by the love and care that our volunteers extended to them and our daughters learned to serve and gained the valuable experience in getting along with elderly people. This event was no doubt a huge success.
The PTA earnestly extends our heartfelt thanks to the parents, School, students and parent volunteers for their tremendous support in making this meaningful event a memorable and successful one.
