Seminar on “STEAM Education”
The above seminar has received positive response from parents and students. We are pleased that around 50 parents and students gathered at the School in a Saturday afternoon on May 14, 2016 to attend the seminar presented by our guest speakers, Professor Frederick Leung and Mr. Paul Chan.
Professor Frederick Leung has worked at the University of Hong Kong for the past 22 years as Professor, Dean of Faculty of Science 92 terms) and member of the HKU Council (4 terms). He has published over 200 ISI scientific articles and was elected AAAS Fellow in 2009. He has won the HKU Teaching Award and HKU Outstanding Research Supervisor’s Award. During the seminar, Professor Leung share with us of his personal view of STEM and how STEM might be incorporated into the local education system.
Mr. Paul Chan, the founder of SHOPPINGPLUS and PAULDESIGN, has 25 years’ design experience serving the innovative industry and design management. During the seminar, Mr. Chan has shared his design projects that exemplify the ideas of innovation and sustainability as well as the practically of environmentally-friendly living and the ideas development of commercial products.
The seminar was well received by our parents; many of them have actively raised questions to seek the advice from Professor Frederick Leung and Mr. Paul Chan in the Q&A session.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Professor Frederick Leung and Mr. Paul Chan for sharing their professional knowledge and remarkable insights with us. Gratitude also goes to all the parents and girls for their attendance, the school for their support, as well as the PTA executive committee members and parent volunteers, for their dedicating time and efforts to make this event a great success.
